The Sugar River State Trail The Sugar River State Trail is 23 miles in the length and encompasses 265 acres. The trail runs between New Glarus and Brodhead, but also goes through the small centers of Albany and Monticello. The trail is used for biking, hiking and snowmobiling, depending on the time of year. Wildflowers, birds and a variety of tree types are seen along the trail. Access: Access the trail in New Glarus, Brodhead, Albany or Monticello. |

Mariners Trail Running between the cities of Manitowoc and Two Rivers, this 7 mi (11.3 km) paved trail passses along Lake Michigan, with access for bikers, runners and rollerbladers. Picnic tables, flower gardens and lookouts are located along the trail. |

Plum Creek Forest Resources Trail This 9-mile walking trail leads past numerous creeks, marshes and forestry areas. Many species of birds inhabit this area including Boreal Chickadeea, Yellow-bellied Flycatchers, sparrows and warblers. North Country National Scenic Trail North Country National Scenic Trail runs through Pennsyvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota, prviding outdoor enthusiasts with roughly 4,600 mi (7,400 km) of pathway linking, including 1,700 mi (2,700 km) of off-road accessible trails. Most people use the trail segments for day trips, but few attempt to do the trail all at once. |

Ahnapee State Trail This trail crosses over 30 mi (48 km) of Wisconsin wilderness along a former rail route. Skiing, hiking, snowmobiling and horesback riding are all popular activities along this path. |

Chippewa River State Trail Chippewa River State Trail offers bicycling, walking, running, in-line skating, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. This trail extends 30 miles between the Cities of Eau Claire and Durand, offering a surface that is ten feet wide and paved with smooth asphalt. All bridges along the trail are wooded-decked and railed for riding safety. |

Elroy-Sparta State Trail The first rail-to trails conversion in the United States, this pathway runs along a portion of the abandoned Chicago & North Western Railroad and passes through three rock tunnels. Bicycle rentals are available. In winter months, the trail is popular for snowmobiling. |

400 State Trail This trail is a recovered rail bed of the Chicago-Northwestern railroad. Crisscrossing the Baraboo River valley, it covers a variety of terrain, including meadows, sandstone bluffs and marshes. A packed bike trail runs the length of the trail. |

Wild Goose State Trail Wild Goose State Trail runs through a number of communities in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties. Horseback riding, jogging, hiking, biking and cross-county skiing are welcomed on the trail, as well as snowmobiling and ATVing between December 1 and March 31. There are numerous picnic facilities and restrooms found along the trail. Access: Access is provided for the Wild Goose Trail near the communities it runs by. Parking lots are available at all access points. |
